Lily Magnolia

Magnolia liliiflora

A superior tree. It can be expected to perform very well in Keizer.

A broadleaf deciduous tree that grows to a rounded shape. This tree is very slightly fragrant because of the flowers that grow on it. It begins to flower in early to mid March.

The Lily Magnolia grows to about 15 ft. tall. The leaves are 4 to 8 inches long, and 2 to 4 inches wide. The flowers are vase shaped and are 4 to 5 inches in diameter. In the Salem-Keizer area, some trees of this species flower a second time. However, it does not flower as profusely than the first flowering.
