Description

The Japanese Umbrella Pine is a conifer and evergreen tree. It grows in a dense pyramidal shape when it’s young, however, when it matures, it opens up. The bark, often hidden by foliage, is thin and orange-brown. 

Characteristics

This treen grows up to 30 ft. tall, and 15 to 20 ft. wide. The needles are 2 to 5 inches long and 1/8 inches wide. The needles are collected in whorls of 20 to 30 at the end of the branches. This tree prefers to get as much sun as possible, while tolerating light shade. The Japanese Umbrella Pine is pest-free.
