Description
A broadleaf deciduous tree. It grows upright and to a medium size. The bark has very distinctive white stripes that run up its lustrous green surface. The bark becomes grayer as it matures.
Characteristics
The tree grows up to 45 to 55 ft. at maturity. The leaves are 3-lobed with the side lobes being relatively smaller than the center lobe. The leaves can grow to 4 to 6 inches long, and 2 to 6 inches wide. The Redvein Maple’s leaves are a dark green above, and a pale green below, with tufts of rusty hairs in its vein axils. The fall foliage color is a rich yellow and gold mixed with crimson. This tree tolderates dry to moist soils, but not saturated soils.
